We’ve rounded up seven marinade recipes to perfectly enhance the taste of beef, chicken, pork, and even fish. Plus, you should have most of the ingredients in your kitchen already.
TIP: Add all your marinade ingredients into a jar for easy mixing – all you need to do is close the lid and shake – and storage.
Combine 160ml coconut cream with 1 crushed garlic clove, 2 tsp sugar, 2 tsp Thai fish sauce, 2 tbsp vegetable oil and 1 tbsp fresh, chopped coriander leaves in a jar. Seal and shake to mix. Use to marinate chicken or fish.
Mix together 3 tbsp red-wine vinegar, 2 tbsp runny honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce and 3 tbsp pineapple juice. Add 1 chopped spring onion. Great for pork.
Combine 2 tbsp sesame oil with 4 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp malt vinegar (try Safari Brown Malt Vinegar), 1 crushed garlic clove and 2 tbsp sesame seeds in a jar. Seal and shake to mix. Brilliant with beef.
Combine 280ml buttermilk with 2 crushed garlic cloves, ½ an onion, grated, and 1 tsp paprika. Seal and shake to mix. A tasty marinade for chicken thighs.
Combine 1 crushed garlic clove with 4 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tsp English mustard, 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 3 tbsp runny honey, 3 tbsp white-wine vinegar and 1 tbsp oil in a jar. Seal and shake to mix. Makes a delicious marinade for pork chops.
Combine 100ml olive oil with the finely grated zest and juice of 2 limes, 1 tbsp runny honey and 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves in a jar. Shake to mix. Use for chicken kebabs.
Mix the zest and juice of 2 lemons with 100ml rapeseed oil, 1 crushed garlic clove and 2.5cm-piece of root ginger, grated, and 1 tbsp honey. Perfect for chicken.
