Try preparing the following meal if you are watching your weight and are trying to keep your daily calorie count as low as possible.
Chicken and vegetable stir-fry
Make a chicken and vegetable stir-fry by heating a few tablespoons of oil in a pan. Throw in some thin strips of boneless chicken and ensure that it cooks through. Opt to use skinless chicken as the skin contains fat and therefore is higher in calories than the chicken meat itself. Remove from the pan once cooked.
Next, add some vegetables to the pan and stir-fry until just cooked. Peppers, baby marrow and mushrooms are delicious options but feel free to add whatever vegetables you like. Note that some vegetables require a longer cooking time and therefore should be added before the others. Vegetables are a great source of fibre and will help you feel satiated.
Thereafter, add the chicken to the vegetables and toss. You can add a little sauce, seasoning and spices according to your taste. Garlic, ginger and chilli are common choices and add a delicious flavour to your meal.
Consult a professional
Always consult a dietician if you require assistance in putting a meal plan together. In addition, you should always check with your doctor before making any drastic changes to your diet, especially if you are under medication or suffer from any medical condition that has an effect on your diet.
