With events scarce over the last 18 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown regulations, celebs were out in full force recently at Ricoffy’s recent 50th birthday bash.
The celebration, hosted by comedian Jason Goliath, also saw the brand announce their collaboration with fashion designer Gert-Johan Coetzee to release a limited-edition bucket hat which is emblazoned with many South African sayings and phrases.
The bucket hat was created to celebrate South African heritage by using words, sayings and phrases which expressed the true essence of South Africanness. The bucket hat will be available for purchase for a limited period.
The guest list included well-known personalities like TV personality Leanne Manas, singer and actress Thembi Seete and hitmaker Master KG.
Everyone was dressed to impress on the day. Seete stunned in formal red pants and a cute floral square-neck shirt, while Coetzee looked dapper in a red shorts suit with an original T-shirt from his brand. Singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka was also spotted at the event, wearing a stunning blue dress.
Guests indulged in a varied menu and open bar, which included biltong, lamb meatballs, sliders, cooked-to-perfection ribs and chicken with a side of potato fries, as well as fluffy mini pies.
The event also had brilliant live performances from legendary musicians such as Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse who wowed the crowd with a set that included his iconic song Burn Out.
Mafikizolo got the guests on their feet with favourites such as Emlanjeni, Love Potion and Udakwa Njalo, and Master KG entertained the crowd with his internationally recognised hit singles such as Jerusalema, Xola Moya Wam’ and Shine Your Light.
