To celebrate the big-screen release of The Secret Life of Pets 2, Universal Pictures UK has teamed up with Pug Café to open a new dog café filled with fluffy Pomeranians, in reference to one of the movie’s characters called Gidget.
London seems to be something of a specialist in animal cafés, bringing humans up close with owls or even foxes as they sip their cappuccinos.
Now, the British capital is due to get a new pop-up dog café, entirely dedicated to the Pomeranian breed, named after the Pomerania region in north-west Poland and north-east Germany in Central Europe. Whose heart hasn’t melted at the sight of these fluffy little toy dogs?
In partnership with Universal Pictures UK, an association that sets up animal cafés is opening a new establishment dedicated entirely to this breed, nodding to a character called Gidget in the studio’s The Secret Life of Pets 2 movie.
This dog café will be hosted at The Happenstance café/restaurant, a stone’s throw from Saint Paul’s Cathedral. It will be open to Pomeranian owners as well as fans of the breed and general dog lovers who want to spend time with these four-legged friends.
The experience costs £10 (R185) for Pomeranian owners and £14 (R260) for Pomeranian lovers. Tickets, dates and time slots can be booked at Pugcafe.com.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 opens May 24 in UK theaters and June 7 in the USA.
A French bulldog café will also be coming to London to celebrate the movie’s release.
