Lock, stock and wine barrel: Graham Beck Bliss Nectar

The Bliss Nectar NV has enchanting hints of butterscotch, honey and praline.

Sometimes sweeter is better, and Graham Beck’s new Bliss Nectar changes the lineup of Méthode Cap Classique’s from the winemakers.

Graham Beck’s ranges are almost faultless as they are appealing – but the focus has been on dry Brut-styled MCC.

Bliss Nectar turns it around and provides an incredible sweet tinge to the lineup.

The blends comprise the two classic building block varietals Pinot Noir (for backbone and aroma) and Chardonnay for fruit intensity.

Here’s what you need to know:

Bliss Nectar Rosé NV

Pinot Noir 58% / Chardonnay 42%

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Robertson Estate Vineyard and hand selected parcels from other geographical areas of the Western Cape.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are pressed separately in whole bunches. They are then blended to showcase the specific aroma profile of this Cap Classique, then bottled and left for 12 months yeast contact time before disgorgement.

Silver pink in colour with light yeast aromas, hints of berries and a touch of honeyed praline.

Bliss Nectar Rosé NV.

Bliss Nectar NV

Chardonnay 55% / Pinot Noir 45%

Grapes sourced as above.

Both varietals are handpicked: Chardonnay at 18- 19.5°B for fruit and elegance. Pinot Noir at 18.5-20°B for complexity and length of flavour and all base wines are produced in our specialist Méthode Cap Classique cellar in Robertson.

It’s treated same as above.

With its fresh notes of ripe citrus and stone fruit flavours complemented by enchanting hints of butterscotch, honey and praline.
