Wine bottle openers are a very essential tool to own, especially if you are a wine lover.

Opening a bottle of wine without a wine opener has proven to be quite an impossible task, and it can be very frustrating to not find your bottle opener when you are in the mood to enjoy a glass of wine.

These effective bottle opening hacks can help you enjoy your favourite bottle of wine at any time without a bottle opener from the comfort of your own home.

Lighter

This wine bottle opening hack makes use of a lighter or two to create pressure in the wine bottle which forces the cork to pop out.

Mimi has shared a video on her TikTok page in which she demonstrates how she opens her wine bottles with two lighters.

In the video, she places the one lighter on the side of the top part of the bottle where the cork sits. She then places another lighter on the opposite side of the top part of the bottle to make sure that there is heat radiating into the cork and the bottle on all sides.

After placing both lighters on the bottle for a few minutes, the cork is seen rising out of the bottle, and eventually pops out of the bottle.

Car or house keys

This next hack makes use of keys to open a wine bottle without a bottle opener.

Lynn Welsh has shared a video on her TikTok page where she demonstrates how she opens her wine bottles in her new home without a wine opener.

She starts off the video by jabbing a set of keys into the cork that is inside the wine bottle. She then twists the key in a clockwise motion in attempts to twist the cork in the bottle.

After some time and a few failed attempts, the cork finally starts to move from inside the bottle, and eventually rises up enough for her to pull it out with the key.

A few screws and a screwdriver

This last hack makes use of more tools to get the cork out of the wine bottle without using a bottle opener, but can be the most effective, and quickest hack.

The Master Man TikTok page has shared a video on how they open wine bottles using two screws, a screwdriver, and a pair of pliers.

In the video, they are seen screwing two screws into the cork of the wine bottle using the screwdriver, and then simply pulling both screws out at the same time, resulting in the cork being pulled out of the bottle immediely.

If you do not have pliers for this hack then you can make use of a hammer.
