If there’s an excuse to celebrate something, then now is the time. With Christmas festivities over and the new year drawing closer, a glass of a perfectly-mixed cocktail would do to end the year.
These recipes add a fun holiday twist and are perfect for a low-key holiday cocktail hour.
Champagne Margaritas
Ingredients
1/2 c. fresh lime juice
1 c. silver tequila
1/2 c. orange liqueur
1 bottle of champagne (about 3 cups)
lime wedges, for rim
salt, for rim
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well.
Run lime wedges around the rim of each champagne flute and dip the rims in coarse salt.
Divide margaritas between flutes and garnish with lime wedges.
Cranberry Mimosas
Ingredients
1 lime, halved
2 tbsp. sugar
1 c. sweetened cranberry juice
1 bottle champagne
12 fresh cranberries
4 small sprigs of fresh rosemary
Directions
Line champagne flutes with lime and dip in sugar. Pour 1/4 cup cranberry juice into each glass and top with champagne.
Use a toothpick to poke a hole through cranberries. Thread rosemary skewer through cranberries and garnish mimosas.
Mimosa Margaritas
Ingredients
2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. tequila
1/4 c. lime juice
Lime wedge, for rimming glasses
Coarse salt, for rimming glasses
1 bottle of champagne or prosecco
Orange and lime slices for serving
Directions
In a pitcher, combine orange juice, tequila, and lime juice and stir to combine.
Rim glass rims with lime and dip in salt. Pour in the orange juice mixture and top off with champagne.
Add sliced oranges and limes to glasses and serve.
Tequila Sunrise Mimosas
Ingredients
Orange wedges, for rim and garnish
Sugar, for rimming glass
2 oz. tequila
1 bottle champagne
1/2 c. orange juice
Few splashes grenadine
Directions
Rim glasses with an orange wedge and dip in sugar.
In each flute, pour 1 ounce of tequila and top off halfway with champagne.
Top off with orange juice and a splash of grenadine.
