Celebrate the end of ‘Game of Thrones’ with White Walker whisky

The R399 price of this 750ml collectable is well worth it.

It’s been a long wait for Game of Thrones fans expecting to see the final season of the hugely popular series, which finally hit screens on Monday.

After waiting a whole two years for their favourite show to arrive, it’s safe to assume that most fans are feeling a little edgy about what the series finale will bring. It’s enough to make you turn to alcohol, I tell you.

And if you do find yourself reaching for the liquor cabinet keys, why not make it a memorable occasion with the Game of Thrones White Walker Limited Edition Scotch Whisky.

It was released by Johnnie Walker just days before the first episode of Game of Thrones landed. Inspired by the terrifying undead, who we last saw blasting their way through The Wall and heading for the seven kingdoms.

Whisky specialist George Harper and a small team of expert blenders used the series’ Frozen North as a reference for creating the White Walker drink.

In addition to incorporating the subtle notes of vanilla and caramelised sugar, with a touch of fruit and fresh red berries, Harper selected premium single malts from Scotland’s most northern distilleries of Cardhu and Clynelish.

But what will really whet the appetites of Game of Thrones fans is the temperature-sensitive ink technology used on the bottle’s design that reveals a pleasantly unexpected “Winter Is Here” motif on the bottle when it is frozen.

If you’re anything like Tyrion Lannister, who once quipped: “I drink and I know things”, then you’ll know that the R399 price of this 750ml collectable is well worth it.
