Enjoy good food, wine and art at the Winter Sculpture Fair

The event is perfect for Mother’s Day weekend and opens from 10am to 5pm.

The 2019 American Express Winter Sculpture Fair is the perfect excuse to get out of the city and spend the day in one of Gauteng’s most spectacular outdoor venues, while enjoying a range of contemporary art, and the best food and wine from the Franschhoek Valley.

On May 11 and 12, guests can journey out to the Cradle of Humankind to sample some of the best food and wine in the country and take in the wonderment of the sculptures in Nirox Sculpture Park.

In its seventh year, the annual American Express Winter Sculpture Fair creates a novel experience that marries food, wine and art. Top restaurants and wineries will set up shop alongside artisanal cheese, charcuterie and chocolate stands.

In addition to buying goods from 40 exhibitors to tailor-make their own picnic experience, visitors can also purchase artworks.

“We are strongly aligned with American Express in crafting quality lifestyle experiences that add value to people’s lives. Together, we strive to open up channels of access to the arts, as well as an opportunity to engage with seasoned South African chefs and vignerons; something that is completely unique to this event,” says fair curator Cassandra Twala of ArtLogic.

The event is perfect for Mother’s Day weekend and opens from 10am to 5pm. Tickets are available at Webtickets. Prices range from R220 to R240 for adults and R40 for children aged 12 and under.

American Express card members can get perks including the early-bird ticket price, a priority queue and a gourmet kitchen hospitality experience with award-winning chefs.
