Recipe: Aromatic Gimblet cocktail

This refreshing drink is best enjoyed on a breezy autumn’s day.

Icelandic word of the month: “nýtt”. That’s “new” for the non-Icelandic speakers.

We are in full support of trying new things, like Reyka, our small batch, Icelandic vodka that was launched to the South African market late last year.

More than that, we believe in stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing new things. A “nýtt” cocktail is a pretty good place to start.

The perfect way to cool yourself down this scorching summer is to try the “Aromatic Gimblet” cocktail, infused with Reyka Vodka, ginger petal-scented lime juice and dry vermouth.

The fresh, floral notes of the ginger petal and lime at its base compliment the premium, handcrafted vodka, creating a refreshing drink best enjoyed on a breezy autumn’s day.

The “Aromatic Gimblet” is so refreshing it could trick you into thinking you’re splashing in the arctic spring water that Reyka is made from. It might also be the cold winter’s air setting in, but let’s go with the former option – it sounds cooler.

Ingredients

2 parts Reyka Vodka
1 part ginger petal-scented lime juice
3/4 parts Dry Vermouth

Method

Stir and strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with ginger flower petal.

For ginger petal-scented lime juice

Add 12 parts lime juice and 24 ginger flower petals to a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds. Fine-strain mixture. Bottle and refrigerate.
