4 types of massages to relax and de-stress

 Here are some of the most popular, and most effective, types of massages.

1. Swedish massage

It’s a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energise you.

2. Deep massage

This technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.

3. Sports massage

Similar to Swedish massage, it’s geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.

4. Trigger-point massage

This type focuses on areas of tight fibres that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
