It’s a funny time of year. Winter is gone but the winter blues are still very much a reality. The year has been long and busy, and you’re tired and stressed.
Life is filled with ups and downs, so here are some ways to reduce your stress levels slightly.
1. Practise deep breathing
Not only will it calm you down, but put you in a better mood too.
2. Exercise regularly
Daily if possible. Walk, swim, run, hit the gym – whatever works for you, as long as you’re moving. Exercise helps body and mind, and is exactly what you need when things get a little too much for you.
3. Treat yourself to quiet, alone time
Because you deserve it, and also because you really need it. Take time out with a good book, listen to some new tunes or just by get some fresh air.
4. Be grateful
For what you do have, and know that this stressful period will pass, as does everything else in life.
5. Know your home and love it
There’s no better place than the comfort of your own home to feel safe, secure and content.
6. Foster a sense of humour
Do things that make you happy and keep smiling.
7. Hang out with your favourites
They are bound to lift your spirits, distract you for a while and make you feel better than you did before.
