Every year in New York City, the Met Gala is held as a grand party to raise funds for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with some celebs rocking up in the most unusual frocks.
The party is organised by Vogue magazine and famous people from different areas, like fashion, movies, TV, music, business, sports and politics, are invited to attend.
The party happens on the first Monday of May, and it marks the start of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. The people who go to the party usually end up on the covers of Vogue. The party has a different theme every year, and everyone has to dress up to match the theme.

This year’s Met Gala 2023 theme was “Karl Langerfeld: A line of beauty”.
On Monday, famous personalities from around the world gathered in New York City to celebrate the late fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld at the annual Met Gala. They showcased their best fashion sense and exuded glamour.
Some of the attendees at the event were A-listers such as Trevor Noah and Rihanna.
Despite her usual late arrival, pop superstar Rihanna made a grand entrance and stole the show on the red carpet.
The award-winning musician was wearing a dramatic white Valentino gown festooned with giant white sculptural flowers that swathed her torso, arms, and head.

Famous for making people laugh, the South African Comedian Trevor Noah wore a Thom Browne tuxedo adorned with Chanel-inspired camellia motifs, along with his hair in neat cornrows and black patent leather boots.
Being recognised for her role in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, influencer and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner dressed in a bright red cutout gown by Haider Ackermann for Jean Paul Gaultier and a silk sky blue robe with matching crimson trim.

Also known for starring in the Keeping up with the Kardashians show, Entrepreneur and stylist Kim Kardashian wore a Schiaparelli gown that was dripping in pearls. The look was far less controversial than her 2022 gown, which belonged to Marilyn Monroe.
Known for his great rhyming skills, US rapper Doja Cat wore a white hooded backless Oscar de la Renta gown with a feather train. She finished the look staying incredibly on brand by doing a full prosthetic feline face.
