Rich Mnisi is bringing back the swimwear option that society once decided men can no longer wear.

Although GQ considers designer Rich Mnisi among the best-dressed individuals in South Africa, he sure loves showing off his perfect bod in an item once considered to be out of style – a pair of speedos.
Speedo is actually the name of a distributor of swimwear and swim-related accessories but the name of the brand has also become the de-facto name for bikini-brief style swimwear often worn by men.
Public sentiment decided, at some point, that speedos were too small and therefore not the modest swimwear option for men. And they were all but abandoned by large numbers of men who swim, in favour of larger, loser swim shorts.
And now, Rich Mnisi is bringing the speedo back.
Mnisi – whose account looks like he is always chasing summer can often be found wearing this style of swimwear in bold colours and cute designs.
It also helps that he has a body that looks like it was chiselled by the gods.

Mnisi, who is currently on a European holiday in Portugal, also recently visited locations such as Paris and Milan.
Over the weekend, Mnisi was among those crowned GQ’s Best Dressed for 2021. Though he wasn’t there, some of South Africa’s most influential individuals and industry heavy hitters came together to celebrate at the Mall of Africa in Waterfall City.
This year’s GQ Best Dressed winners are; Bobo Nadima, DJ LeSoul, Justice Mukheli (also the winner of the Lexus Luxe Award), Mbulelo Mbiphi, Njabulo Buthelezi, Oscar Fakude, Rich Mnisi, Teboho Caddy Tsotetsi, Teddy Nkonde, Thabo Fransisco Makhafola, Thapelo Mokoena and Tshepo Pitso.
While some categories were decided upon by GQ’s readers, the rest were selected by a panel of judges consisting of GQ’s editors and past winners.
“It’s all about personal style and how it’s a part of your everyday life, not only for one event or one moment but for someone who lives with style. We are looking for people who didn’t let the pandemic kill their style. Each of the winners chosen have a unique and authentic style, which GQ Best Dressed is all about,” said GQ editor-in-chief Molife Kumona.
