Beauty queens from 85 countries globally are competing for the title of Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador.
The new queen will be crowned at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador this Saturday, 18 November, and the ceremony will air live on SABC 3 (DStv Channel 193) from 3 am and repeated later the same day at 7:30 pm.
This week saw the contestants reveal their stunning gowns at the preliminary completions, and we have picked our favourate 10.

Here are our favourite national gowns in no particular order
Canada – Madison Kvaltin
Madison embraced her Canadian pride with her beautiful red number designed by the Mexican fashion designer Fher Santos.
South Africa – Bryoni Govender
Mzansi’s very own Miss Universe 2023 hopeful, Bryoni Govender, wore a stunning gold gown designed by William de Beer – a South African designer and owner of Willet Designs Couture.
India – Shweta Sharda
Shweta’s blue gown’s design entails a Corset adorned with 3D embellished wildflowers, crystals, and bugle pipes. The dress was designed by the famous Indian duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna.
Mexico – Melissa Flores
Also designed by the renowned Fher Santos, Melissa slayed in a spectacular red dress for the Preliminary of the Miss Universe 2023 competitions.
Nicaragua – Sheynnis Palacios
Sheynnis’ dress represents the glow the water reflects off when the sun caresses it. Designed by Fernàn Joyas, the beautiful gown has more than 100,000 crystal stones.
Philippines – Michelle Dee
Miss Universe Philippines represented her country in a beautiful green Mark Bumgarner design.
Peru – Camila Escribens
Camila looked elegant and sophisticated in a yellow dress designed by Jose Zafra
Lebanon – Maya Aboul
One of the Top 10 silver Finalists in the ‘Voice for Change’ at Miss Universe 2023, Maya Aboul, was dressed by Atelier of La Bourjoisie.
Venezuela – Diana Silva
Designed by Richard Ramírez Castro, Diana’s gown was inspired by the majestic waterfall of Leap Angel.
USA – Noelia Voigt
For Miss Universe USA, red signifies “love, courage, and sacrifice”. Venezuelan fashion designer Dhey Galaviz designed her dress.
