Kesha’s tongue-in-cheek jewellery line

Ke$ha’s jewellery line shows her sense of humour. The ‘Tik Tok’ hitmaker decided to incorporate penis motifs into her new sell-out collection with Charles Albert, Kesha Rose, because she is obsessed with men and wanted to adorn her body with the phallic-shaped charms to make a tongue-in-cheek statement.

She told Fashionista.com: “I mean, come on. I love boys and I love penises. It’s natural that I’d want to adorn my body with them. And in anything I do, I think it’s important to have some humour.” The 26-year-old pop star had a big input into the 140 plus piece line, which is handcrafted using hypoallergenic Alchemía instead of traditional jewellery metals.

As a result, she feels a strong personal connection to the range, with several pieces having a strong symbolic meaning. Ke$ha said: “My favourite piece is probably the teeth, moulded after ones my fans have sent me. I wear all of it, all the time.  “The blue roses are the most personal because that line (Blue Rose) is named after my brother whose middle name is Blue, and my mom whose name is Rose (which is my middle name, too).”

The animal-loving blonde – whose next venture is creating her own faux-fur line – claims branching out into fashion design was a “natural” process for her. She said: “It was a natural next step for me. I am obsessed with jewellery, especially natural stones, and it just made sense for me to eventually make my own.

“I also love the metaphysical properties of many of the stones we are using.”
