LeAnne Dlamini tired of 90% local music

Dlamini says 'this 90% local music played on SABC radio is going to be a problem!'

Singer and songwriter LeAnne Dlamini could not hold herself back any longer and took to social media to voice her opinion of the SABC playing 90% local music.

“This 90% local music played on SABC radio is going to be a problem! They’re not filtering what’s being played and playing just anything nje,” she tweeted, adding that “there are good quality SA songs out there but we’re not hearing them.”

She further explained that because of this, she has resorted to listening to Highveld (94.7). “I can’t listen to bad music,” said Dlamini in a video she posted on Instagram. “Give us songs wt [with] good lyrical content, good songwriting & production. It’s a full package. Hope I’m making sense,” she tweeted.

The singer says the public broadcaster should spread the music across all genres.  “You can’t just cut off from what’s happening internationally too! We need to keep up & the only way is to listen to other stations now,” she wrote.
