In our 'Daily hacks' series, we bring you the latest trends, tips and tricks to transform your life and save you time and money. This week: storage

Retail therapy is one of the quickest ways to lift your mood and brighten your day if shopping for clothes is a hobby of yours.

Being a bit of a shopaholic, however, can result in you having far too many clothes in your wardrobe, making it quite the mission to create a neat and tidy storage space.

Luckily for you, you do not need to get rid of your favourite clothing items because there are some tips and tricks on how to create more storage space in your wardrobe with all the clothes and shoes you already have.

Here are some hacks to create more wardrobe clothing space:

The hanger stack hack

Having no space to add more clothes on a clothing rack inside your wardrobe can be very frustrating. You may be forced to have to stack many shirts and jeans onto one hanger to make sure that your clothes are all packed inside your wardrobe, but this may make your closet seem very untidy and clustered.

TikTok user Melissa Riddell has shared her hack on creating more storage space in her wardrobe and on her clothing rack.

She demonstrates by taking a hanger, putting a clothing item on the hanger, and then hooking one hanger onto another hanger to create one stack of hangers which neatly holds multiple clothes.

How to hang your jeans on a low clothing rack

Hanging clothes which are long on low or short clothing racks can make your wardrobe appear very messy. Pants, jackets and coats are usually the clothing items which people prefer to hang in their closet instead of folding, but they are also clothing items which are the longest and require the most space.

The TikTok page, The Folding Lady, has shared a tip on how to properly hang your lengthy clothes on shorter clothing racks.

In the video, she demonstrates a pair of jeans which are on a hanger in the wardrobe.

She then takes the jeans and puts them on the hanger, with half of the jeans hanging on the one side of the hanger, and the other half hanging onto the other side.

This method shortens the length of the jeans in the wardrobe, making sure they do not touch the ground when placed back on the rack.

T-shirt drawer

You can create much more space in your wardrobe for your heavier clothes such as jeans and hoodies if you pack your lighter clothing items in a drawer.

Packing your T-shirts in a drawer makes it much easier to pack more T-shirts in a single space, and when it is time to get dressed and pick out an outfit, it will be much easier to find what you are looking for.

The folding lady has shared another video on turning your drawers into T-shirt drawers to create more space in your wardrobe.

In the video, she shows how she creates three different compartments in the drawer by separating them with thin, straight boards or planks.

She then rolls up her shirts in a tidy manner and places them one after the other, separating them by colour and creating different rows of T-shirts based on their colours
