In an interview earlier this year, Semenya was clearly on cloud nine as she spoke about her wife and getting married.
“I just got married a few months ago. With the support I get from my training partners, my wife, coach, fellow South Africans and the support system at the university, there’s no way you can’t be happy.”

Semenya’s pride was evident as she went on to to talk about how she and Raseboya met when they were teenagers. Although they dated on and off for 8 years, they finally opted to become serious about each other two years ago.
Semenya paid lobola for her partner last year, and they officially began their lives as marital partners.
“Last year, when I told her I was ready to send my family to hers, she was happy, excited, she could not wait. We’ve been good friends. Relationships are all about a good friendship,” she said.
On her side, Raseboya has been cheering on her love from their home in Pretoria. On Instagram she has been posting inspirational messages to Semenya, pushing her to work harder and do her best.
In another post, Raseboya spoke about how she looked up to her partner. “You the most person I always look up to.Very brave, strong, caring, humble and kind You are ur own CEO,” she wrote.
Semenya is expected to take gold tomorrow during the 800m final, and with Raseboya spurring her on, she is obviously the best person to take encouragement from.
