Are you worried about your level of sweating?

Remember that there are times when your level of sweating will be more than other days, such as when you are feeling physically hot due to warm weather.

Do you find that you are sweating heavily and don’t know what to do? If you are in this situation and feel that it is not normal then it may be time to see your doctor.

Remember that there are times when your level of sweating will be more than other days, such as when you are feeling physically hot due to warm weather.

Hyperhidrosis

If however, you find that you are ‘soaking through your shirt and socks at the end of each day’, you could have a medical condition known as hyperhidrosis. Luckily, it is treatable and you should not let yourself feel embarrassed about the condition.

See your doctor

Your doctor will chat to you about your level of sweating and ask you questions such as when it occurs as well as what seems to trigger it. Avoiding triggers, if possible, will help to reduce the level of sweating you may be experiencing.

You should also tell your doctor if you are taking any medication or have other medical conditions as this could be related to the sweating that you are experiencing.

Your doctor may also do a medical examination and test for conditions that can cause hyperhidrosis. These conditions include diabetes, heart disease and thyroid problems.

Ask your doctor what treatment options would be suitable for you – he is there to help.
