Pearl Thusi’s ongoing beef with drawn-on eyebrows

Pearl Thusi’s objection to drawn-on eyebrows goes way back, and she is not alone.


Those who shave their eyebrows and draw them back on into their preferred shapes are increasingly finding themselves standing before a disapproving jury.

This was witnessed at this year’s State of the Nation Address, when the camera happened to zoom onto a woman who reportedly fell asleep several times. Her face, which featured prominent drawn-on eyebrows, subsequently blew up on social media.

Among those who object to this particular preference for eyebrow styling is Pearl Thusi, who this week hit back at critics of her bowl haircut by screengrabbing their social media pictures to essentially say people in glass houses should not throw stones.

In her caption, she singled out a face with what appears to be drawn-on eyebrows on the top right of her post. She wrote: “My fav is bottom left. And the eyebrows on top right. [laugh-cry emojis].”
