Modjadjiskloof set to get R50m boost for Black Industrialist Programme

Modjadjiskloof is set to benefit from close to R50 million government grant to boost manufacturing in the town and create employment, The Citizen reports.

With unemployment rate of 70 percent in Modjadjiiskloof and surrounding rural areas, Eastern Trading has created 70 permanent jobs and 150 contract jobs.

Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry (the dti), Bulelani Magwanishe, is set to launch a multi-million-rand black industrialist firm’s expansion project of Eastern Trading, a company trading as Dursots All Joy, in Modjadjiskloof, next month.

Darsot is a manufacturer of canned foods, vegetable oils and detergents founded by Ismail Darsot over 18 years ago.

In 2015, the food producer also acquired a tomato-processing factory in Tzaneen in Limpopo.
