Reaction officers catch Kempton robbers in Pretoria

Reaction officers arrested four men involved in a series of armed robberies in Kempton Park.

The Fidelity ADT’s community operations managers received a tip-off about suspects on the run from Centurion towards the Moot region of Pretoria on the afternoon of October 11.

Without wasting any time, both managers sprang into action, coordinating with the SAPS and other security companies to intercept the suspects.

A high-speed chase culminated on the N1 north between Stormvoël Road and Zambezi Drive and the suspects’ vehicle was pulled over at the Zambezi off-ramp.

The four suspects were apprehended and handed over to Kempton Park SAPS, as most of the robberies had occurred in that area.

The officers were praised by Charnel Hattingh, group head of marketing and communications at Fidelity ADT, for taking swift action.

“Our team’s quick response and collaboration with SAPS led to the successful apprehension of these suspects.

“This incident underscores our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our communities,” said Hattingh.

The Kempton Express attempted to gain insight into the arrest and related crime from the Kempton Park SAPS.

At the time of going to print, no comment or confirmation of the events described in this article were forthcoming.

Caxton Local Media and the Forum of Community Journalists (FCJ) recently raised an objection to a directive issued to police stations not allowing local SAPS spokespersons to communicate with local media.
