Tripandie to score yet again

There could be some concern he is drawn widest of all at No 11.

It has become almost impossible to oppose the combination of trainer Dean Kannemeyer and jockey Anthony Delpech and they look set to notch up another winner or two at Greyville today when racing takes place on the Polytrack.

Their “best on show” looks to be Tripandie in Race 7, a MR 99 Handicap over 1200m. This four-year-old son of Trippi has won his last three starts in facile manner and should extend that run to four. He has won three of his four runs on the Polytrack and three runs back won over 1200m. His two other victories have been over 1400m.

His one shocker at this course came in March last year in which he made a respiratory noise and pulled up short. Kannemeyer rested him for just short of a year and also gelded him in June last year. Since his return Tripandie has not put a foot wrong.

There could be some concern he is drawn widest of all at No 11 but as he often tends to drop out early it should not prove to be a disaster.

Apprentice Lyle Hewitson continues to churn out winners and is excellent value for his 2.5kg allowance. He rides Tuscan for the Kom Naidoo yard and they could follow up their last victory over 1400m at the course in April.
