Dawn Calling to give the right answer

Dawn Calling has run second to top fillies in feature races and looks the runner they will all have to beat in Race 5 on the Greyville Polytrack today.

Unfavourable results have been experienced lately and pin-pointing a sure winner has become rather difficult. This could change at Greyville’s Polytrack today where Dawn Calling looks to be the right one to shout for come Race 5, a Graduation Plate over 1200m.

Form really doesn’t get any more honest than this. This three-year-old daughter of Trippi has done extremely well, having run in the money on all seven starts, winning once and only missing the top two positions once.

She’s been knocking on the door and it’s only a matter of time before someone opens it. That man just might be Anton Marcus – who will be in the saddle steering her home. She comes back from a short break and will be carrying 56kg, the lowest she’s ever had to shoulder. This might prove to be the advantage she needs along with the experience of Anton who rode her on her last outing.

The race features a strong field of horses, all of whom have decent form. Free State ran a cracker on her last run, losing by no more than a whisker to Shezaleader, and will be looking to go on from that run.

Impala Lily, another daughter of Trippi showed a lot of heart to win under Anthony Delpech last time out. She comes back from a lengthy break and just might need the run. Another horse to look out for will be Just Vogue, who runs well on the Polytrack, having run three times for a win and two places.

Race 8 is another which looks relatively good, Tanjiro and Emperor Niarchos have promising form and look to be the two who will fight it out – Tanjiro appears to be the most consistent and may just have one up on his fellow rivals. An Exacta/Swinger chance with the two is a possibility.
