Filly Kissable should have too much speed

Frederico’s Dream is the danger.

Speedy Kissable took to the Greyville Polytrack over the winter and came away with two wins from two runs on the surface.

Tomorrow Paul Matche ’s charge returns to the turf and once again she should be hard to beat even though she will have to adjust to the surface again.

It could also work in her favour this this meeting has been moved to the Inside track at Turffontein as she has run well at the course on the only other occasion she has raced there.

Because all races take place around the turn the draw is vital and last time she ended up on the outside of the field.

She has plenty of gate speed so the daughter of Antonius Pius had little difficulty getting out quickly but she hardly goes a metre further than 1000m so there was very little left in the tank close home and she faded late to run a 1.55-length third behind Frederico’s Dream who was drawn No 2 and had a 4kg claiming apprentice up.

They meet again in Race 8 tomorrow in a Pinnacle Stakes over 1000m and this time the shoe is on the other foot. Kissable jumps from barrier No 1 and has a 2.5kg weight advantage.

In addition, Marco can Rensburg is in the irons and he is unbeaten in three rides on the Paul Matche -trained filly.

The danger is undoubtedly Frederico’s Dream who has not raced since their last meeting 130 days ago.

She might be in need of the run but the father-and-son training team of Mike and Adam Azzie have engaged champion jockey Lyle Hewitson to take the ride.

Rocky Valley cannot be ignored either although it is questionable as to whether the fi ve-year-old gelding will be able to give Kiss-able 5.5kg and a beating.

However, Candice Dawson’s charge has been running in feature-race company and did well last time when just beaten 2.85 lengths by Will Pays in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint over 1200m at Greyville in July.

This son of Seventh Rock led for much of the journey on that oc-casion and is undoubtedly a be er performer over 1000m and four of his five wins have been over the minimum trip.
