Tap O’Noth favourite for Matchem

Last Season’s Grade 1 Cape Guineas winner will be ridden by Anton Marcus and will sport blinkers for the first time.


Tap O’Noth, winner of last year’s Grade 1 Cape Guineas, has been priced up at 11-10 to win the World Sports Being Matchem Stakes over 1400m at Durbanville on Saturday.

Last Season’s Grade 1 Cape Guineas winner will be ridden by Anton Marcus and will sport blinkers for the first time.

Vaughan Marshall’s charge has not raced since finishing fourth behind Captain America in the Grade 1 Champion’s Cup over 1800m at Greyville on 28 July. Second favourite is unbeaten Rainbow Bridge and he is at 15-4.

Bernard Fayd’Herbe takes the ride as regular rider Richard Fourie will be aboard third favourite Fifty Cents (9-2) for the Justin Snaith yard.

Marcus also rides Good-time Gal in the Grade 3 WSB Diana Stakes over 1400m and she has been priced up favourite at 7-2. Second favourite at 4-1 is Angel’s Trumpet who is trained by Snaith and has Fourie aboard.

Ryan Munger gets the ride on unbeaten Lesedi La Rona who is quoted at 6-1.
