Marcus to light up Sky
Sean Tarry's Tilbury Fort at 25-1 looks outstanding value.
FAVOURITE. African Night Sky, winner of last season’s Winter Series in Cape Town, has been priced up at 4-1 to take the WSB Greyville 1900 on Saturday 19 May.
Vodacom Durban July favourite African Night Sky has been installed 4-1 favourite with the sponsors for the World Sports Betting 1900 at Greyville on 19 May when the Jus- tin-Snaith trained four-year-old will be ridden by Anton Marcus for the first time.
Second favourite at 7-1 is Mike de Kock-trained Cascapedia, whose three race winning run came to an end when she finished only 10th behind Nother Russia in the Princess Charlene Empress Club Stakes.
It’s My Turn, equal third in last year’s race when trained by Snaith but now with Dean Kannemeyer, is next best at 8-1.
Tilbury Fort, second in last year’s Greyville 1900, is a 25-1 chance this time and could be a good bet to get in early while he is still up at 25-1. Although landing a wide draw, Sean Tarry’s charge has won his last two races, which came after gelding. On Saturday at Turffontein, following a polished second victory, Tarry said that they now expected a bright future for the four-year-old son of Horse Chestnut.
Last season’s third-placed Mr Winsome is one of the real outsiders at 45-1. Elusive Silva, fifth last year and another Snaith entry, is quoted at 18-1.
