Zoe: Life after Idols is hard work

'Idols SA' finalist Zoe Zana has assured her fans that she has big plans in the pipeline, but has also asked that they be patient as she fervently works on realising her dreams.

The feisty 19-year-old singer from Cape Town reached the top four in the ninth season of the reality talent show and she doesn’t seem to be lacking in attention, seeing as her house is constantly full of people these day.

“It’s a heavy change, especially [for] my parents,” Zoe told the Daily Voice.

“They’re not used to all the people at the house all the time, people calling for interviews and them having to take me everywhere.”

Opening up about her future plans, Zoe made it clear that she wants to take creative control of her career as a solo musician, and plans to do so in 2014.

“I want to do R&B and pop, and I want to write my own songs,” she said.

“I hope to release some of my own music by March next year. You just have to be patient and wait now because I promise you big things are gonna happen now.”

She admitted that making her dreams come true is no walk in the park though.

“Life after Idols is hard work, it’s even more work than what I thought,” she added.

“Obviously on Idols you do, like, one song and then later in the competition you do three songs. But now it’s three gigs of one-hour sets a day – it’s heavy!”
