Initially, Stephen Motoma (32) struggled to start a conversation with Mmasetshaba Mphela (24). He got her numbers by bribing his friend with a can of cold drink, that’s when he started chatting with her on WhatsApp.

After chatting for some time their relationship became serious. In August 2014 Stephen got a job in Kimberly, and that put a huge strain on their relationship.
