Tkzee and Makhadzi set the stage on fire at the Royal Heritage Festival over the weekend.
The annual Phalaphala FM Royal Gospel and heritage festival took place in Thohoyandou in Venda, Limpopo.
Now in its 5th year, the festival was attended by over 20 000 people who enjoyed the two-day musical experience at Nandoni Dam at Royal Gardens.
The event kicked off on Friday, with the 10 KM Fun Walk hosted by the VhaVenda king, His Majesty Khosikhulu Toni Mphephu Ramabulana. The walk was followed by Musangwe (venda traditional boxing).
In this year’s lineup, the event organisers also introduced the first ever Royal Gospel edition offering multi-award winning gospel choir Joyous Celebration, joined by Lebo Sekgobela and other gospel artists.
Saturday night’s performances included the likes of Cassper Nyovest, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Lira, Alick Macheso, Amanda Black, Thomas Chauke, Lira, Sjava, Sands, Ok MalumKoolKat, Dr Malinga, Makhadzi.
Adding cherry on top was Tkzee’s performance. The legendary kwaito trio wowed the crowd as they were the night’s surprise act.
Local artist Makhadzi also set the stage alight with her killer dance moves.
