With sequels, prequels and trilogies dominating the big screen, it’s natural that audiences are a little suspicious of their quality.
While some are memorable, others make no effort to mask their true purpose as just another poorly crafted force-feeding ploy by Hollywood in order to meet their bottom line.
Thankfully the John Wick series is not among those B-grade skop, skiet en donner flicks, and immediately gained cult status when the first movie landed in 2014. John Wick 2 proved to be an even bigger success.
Now, with the much-touted John Wick 3: Parabellum just four months from a worldwide release, the overall mood surrounding its arrival remains upbeat and eager.
And if the Twitter-verse is not already buckling under the weight of fan anticipation, the producers have released the new trailer and it looks amazing.
It drips with cityscapes and gorgeous sets, a few new big-name stars (Halle Berry, Angelica Huston and Laurence Fishburne), crazy assassins and memorable action sequences.
John Wick 3: Parabellum opens in cinemas on May 17.
