Foo Fighters’ frontman Grohl posted a special video message for his South African fans on YouTube titled “South Africa, We’ve Never Met”.
This will mark the first time that Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters – Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear – will perform in the country. They will be joined by special guests Kaiser Chiefs and BLK JKS.
Since debuting in 1995 with their classic self-titled first album, the band’s eighth studio album is due for release in November 2014. It will be preceded by the premiere of Sonic Highways, a Grohl-directed episodic series documenting the eight-city odyssey during which the album was recorded.
Tickets are due to go on sale on 26 June at 9am. Get all the details of their upcoming tour here.
