Disney has released the first full-length trailer for Aladdin before its release later this year.
A short teaser trailer from October 2018 showed the titular character going into a cave to retrieve the lamp. Not much was given away, but it was just enough to hook audiences.
The new, longer trailer allows for a proper look at the movie.
Will Smith dressed in the genie’s costume introduces the trailer, which starts off with Aladdin being chased by police through the marketplace.
Other scenes reminiscent of the 1992 animated version include Aladdin and Jasmine’s first encounter, and the iconic magic carpet ride complete with the duo singing A Whole New World.
Set in the fictional Arabian city of Agrabah, the movie follows the story of thief Aladdin (Mena Massoud) who is tasked with retrieving a magic lamp from a cave for the villainous Jafar (Marwan Kenzari).
As it turns out, the lamp contains a wish-granting, rapping Genie (Will Smith). Aladdin asks the genie to turn him into a prince so that he can legally court Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott).
Aladdin is set to release on May 24.
