Whether this is a coincidence, good marketing, or Cassper Nyovest is a romantic at heart, the celebration of his wedding anniversary coincides with a song celebrating his wife trending.
On Sunday, the rap artist celebrated the first anniversary of his marriage to his wife, Pulane Mojaki, with a heartfelt message on Instagram.
“Can’t believe it’s been a year already since I got married to my person,” said Cassper in a caption of the couple’s photo together.

A year of marriage
A year ago, the rapper whose real name is Refiloe Phoolo tied the knot to Pulane.
On 5 April 2024, a video of the artist and his now-wife made the rounds on social media, showing the two holding hands as family and friends sang and ululated in celebration.

In the video, Pulane is adorned in Tswana traditional garb.
Reflecting on their first year as a married couple, Cassper said: “Commonly when one wants to write something reflecting on a full year or a relationship, there’s a lot of pain and trauma. We have had our fair share.”
The pain and trauma Cassper refers to could be some of the backlash the couple received soon after tying the knot.
Following the ceremony, media personality and fellow rapper Stilo Magolide went on social media to criticise Cassper.
Stilo questioned the time of the traditional wedding and also cast a doubt on Cassper’s spiritual standing.
In a short video posted on his Instagram, Stilo sarcastically refers to Cassper as ‘Baba Umfundisi’ (a pastor) and says he’s confused by Cassper’s choices lately.

Baby-mama drama
In his salvo of questions, Stilo asked why Cassper dragged the mother of his son, Thobeka Majozi.
“Why drag your baby-mama? Seemingly, she’s not saying anything. Last time I checked, your high school sweetheart was Boity, now you got a new one…how many you got?
Stilo is understood to be friends with Majozi. In 2023, Majozi wrote a heartfelt Father’s Day message for Cassper on her Instagram.
Months after Magolide’s rant, Majozi broke her silence and gave a window into her relationship with Cassper on her birthday.
Majozi shared that the pair’s son had been diagnosed with cancer at eight months.
Majozi’s post detailed how she not only had to deal with the cancer diagnosis but also Cassper’s infidelity and then the rapper’s marriage to Pulane.
“I lived in an oncology hospital for two years with my son as he underwent chemotherapy and life-threatening surgeries,” wrote Majozi.
“In the depth of fighting cancer, I was hit with a curveball of infidelity. The woman knew me, my son’s condition and made no mistake with flaunting their relationship.”
After her post, Cassper shared a video of himself on holiday in Dubai, which came off as insensitive. Many of his fans commented that the post seemed callous.
The Doc Shebeleza rapper said he chose not to disclose his son’s cancer diagnosis in his interviews earlier in the year.
“[It was] to try and kind of share that life I was living, and the type of mistakes that I did, and also the type of hurt that I caused to a lot of people, including my baby mama. I left out certain details, like my son’s cancer, because I had agreed with her that we wouldn’t share that part with the public, and I thought I was honouring her and my son,” shared Cassper.
“But maybe it might have come off as me trying to defend myself. So, I wanted to confirm that as the truth, it might not be the whole truth, but I wanted to take accountability for my part and say that is the truth.”
The 35-year-old entertainer said his treatment of Majozi and his son was something he’s not proud of, but it’s something he’s learnt from.
“It’s something I had to grow from. It’s something I had to forgive myself for, you know.”
Hosh Karamaima
Just before Valentine’s Day, Cassper released his latest song, Kusho Bani, which has garnered more than two million streams on Spotify alone.
The song has also performed well on local charts, adding to its growing number of views on YouTube. The catchy tune has a part where Cassper raps: Have you seen my wife, huh?… Hoshkaramaima.
In an interview, Cassper said ‘Hosh karamaima’ refers to a lady who embodies a rare combination of beauty, grace, and good character, with a glowing sun-kissed complexion.
“Hosh comes from ‘hot’. In my squad we never say ‘she’s hot’ we say ‘she’s such a hosh’ and karamaima is just a mixture of things’,” said Cassper in an interview on radio station 947.
The track has become a TikTok sensation, primarily due to its aforementioned second verse, which has gone viral.
