Gqeberha will be represented at this year’s Metro FM Music Awards (MMAs) in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, as two of the city’s exports, Luthando Shosha and Siyabonga Ngwekazi, were announced as the main hosts.
“I’m beyond excited to share the stage with none other than my homeboy, Siyabonga Ngwekazi,” said Shosha, who is popularly known as LootLove.
In 2024, LootLove held the same title but shared the stage with rap artists and broadcaster Tebogo “Proverb” Thekisho.
“The MMAs 2024 were a truly monumental and unforgettable experience for me. I’m honoured to be entrusted with this role once again,” she said.
Ngwekazi, who is popularly known as Scoop is as excited to be working with LootLove for the first time.
“I’m thrilled to collaborate with Luthando for the first time, and I’m grateful to Metro FM for providing a platform for us to showcase our skills and talents,” the television presenter and cultural commentator said.
The station announced the pair as the main hosts for this year’s edition. The Metros also said that Dineo Ranaka and Hip-Hop artist L-Tido will host in the Green Room, interviewing winners as they step off-stage.
The station recently announced Ranaka’s inclusion in its new roster. She now hosts the Top 30 chart show from Saturday morning to midday.
Actress, TV presenter, model, and rapper Anele Zondo and The Hustler Fix host Mpumi Mlambo will host the Black Carpet.

Music celebration
This year’s edition is themed ‘Crowning Greatness’, which celebrates the achievements of those who shape South Africa’s cultural narrative. This will be the final year of the awards being hosted in Mbombela this year.
“I’m looking forward to being part of this exciting event that’s at the forefront of celebrating South African music.
As a passionate advocate for creativity and the music industry, I believe South African artists deserve regular recognition,” Ngwekazi said.
Confirmed performers of the night include Master KG, Black Motion, K.O, Zee Nxumalo.
