Von Memerty is SA’s Most Wanted Outlaw

Oscar von Memerty (aka Sko-Tiny), son of the Zimbabwean-born South African entertainer Ian von Memerty, is the Most Wanted Outlaw in MTV’s #YouGotGot – MTV South Africa’s first prank show – thanks to his outrageous pranks. Not much heavier than a bag of potatoes, Von Memerty is not your average 20-year-old.

Weighing 25kg and barely 113cm tall, he lives with a rare condition, Maroteaux Lamy Syndrome, characterised by dwarfism. But do not underestimate the little guy, because Von Memerty always rises to the occasion. Reflecting on his childhood, he recalls being victimised by bullies but thanks to a loving family, it wasn’t long before he showed them who’s the boss.

The hip-hop dancer, motivational speaker and outlaw prankster took the title from fellow competitors Simmi Areff, Graham Haynes, Lihle “Lindzy” Msimang and Tracey-Lee Oliver, thanks to thousands of votes from MTV viewers who were captivated by his larger-than-life personality. Fans voted on social media and support from the #Teamoscar camp was astounding.

As SA’s Most Wanted Outlaw, Oscar will be heading to Los Angeles for the 2016 MTV Movie Awards in April, with a lucky voter. Together they will produce content for MTV (DStv Channel 130) on the star-studded red carpet and be part of the show.

“Winning this kind of competition was part of a vision and we have done it,” Von Memerty says. “I had said from the outset that with drive, determination and passion we can win – and we have. This is just the beginning. See you in LA.” Meanwhile Sko-Tiny’s fellow competitor, Tracey-Lee Oliver, has been banished to a prankster retirement home where she will rest her weary feet.

With one Outlaw axed, MTV is launching a rookie campaign – looking for the funniest person to join the crazy Outlawz for Season 2 of #Yougotgot. Viewers can audition for the Rookie Outlaw by posting a short video to mtv. co.za telling MTV why they’d be a good outlaw, who they’d prank and what their prank idea is.

The ever feisty Tracey-Lee says: “I had the best time being an Outlaw. It felt so good being bad. I’m grateful to my fans for their support and the many votes they posted. If you see me in public, you’re probably going to get pranked.”

The Outlawz took pranking to a new level; entertaining with ease and excellence. The next season will continue to break new ground – remember, nobody is safe.
