Earlier this month, he released the music video for his summer jam, Throway, which features cameo appearances by South African rapper Cassper Nyovest and Ghanaian deck master DJ Champagne. The Throway video made its local debut on Channel O, followed by a whirlwind of TV spots on Hip TV, Sound City, Afro Pop, Nigizie, Silver Bird and Planet Radio TV.
While he says Nigeria remains home, the cosmopolitan differences between Lagos and the Johannesburg are few, so he always feels at ease staying in the city. This must be reassuring, considering the young up-and-comer hopes to be a voice for the over 18 set.
It also helps that he is creating a major fan base by continuously sharing slithers of his life on social media platforms. From tweeting from the recording booth to sharing glitzy shots of being a performer, there aren’t any dull moments. This interaction means he is in the five-digit mark on Twitter, with Facebook also nearing that mark.
He says that being honest and giving fans a peek behind the curtains is what keeps him going.
It also helps him sculpt his potential album. Pedro admits that there is no release planned for now, but at least his single is zinging up the airways.
