Last night’s episode of Utatakho caused shock on social media after viewers watched how a woman, Ntombikayise, found out she had four possible fathers.
Hosted by Nimrod Nkosi, Utatakho is a reality show that follows people on their journey to find their biological fathers. It chronicles the joy and pain that a person experiences in exploring their genetic background.
Ntombi decided to search for her real father after her mother accidentally revealed that she was using the wrong surname.
Ntombi’s mother refused to appear on television, but she informed her daughter there were four men who could be her biological father.
In her quest, Ntombi discovered that three of the four men did not know who she was. However, they acknowledged their responsibilities as a parent, and were willing to step up to the role; they would never have abandoned her if they had known about her.
The fourth man turned out to be Ntombi’s father, and warmly received his daughter.
Despite this episode of Utatakho having a happy ending, Twitter users could not get over the fact that Ntombikayise’s mother said there were four potential fathers.
Many weighed in on the episode, and expressed their disbelief at the situation.
4 alleged fathers. No mother should do this to her children #utatakho pic.twitter.com/2IXQ3Ib4aQ
