Entitled An Intimate Night with Unathi, the DVD features the renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir and Unathi says it’s something she’s very proud of.
“My DVD is the biggest milestone in my life. I wanted to show my growth as a musician,” she explained to SunBuzz.
“It’s a reflection of my three studio albums. I started singing 10 years ago so it’s been a long journey.”
Unathi launched the DVD in Port Elizabeth in July, and she’s following this with shows in Jo’burg, Polokwane, and then Cape Town.
She speaks fondly of PE, saying: “I had to first launch in my home province because it’s where I come from. I wanted to show my appreciation back home first.”
Unathi co-hosted the third season of reality show ‘Popstars’ in 2004 and is currently a presenter on the Metro FM drivetime show with Glen Lewis. She is a two-time SAMA nominee and has been voted South Africa’s Best Female at the Metro FM Music Awards.
