Zozibini Tunzi replaces Bonang Matheba as the host of AMVCA
The former Miss SA said she is excited to hosts the awards and be reunited with Ik Osakioduwa.

Africa Magic in association with MultiChoice has officially announced the hosts for this year’s edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi has replaced the multi-award-winning TV and radio personality Bonang Matheba as the host of the awards.
The beauty queen will host the 9th edition of the prestigious awards alongside the Nigerian superstar Ik Osakioduwa, while Toke Makinwa, Sika Osei, VJ Adams, and Uti Nwachukwu, take over the red carpet.
The awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional talent in the African film and television industry. They will be held over three days, from this Thursday (18 May) to Saturday (20 May), in Lagos, Nigeria.
The main event will be on Saturday night. On Thursday, is the Opening/Cultural Night followed by, May the MTF Day and Digital Content Creators Day on Friday, then Nominee Gala/Runway show later on the day. The awards will be broadcasted live on all Africa Magic channels on DStv from 5pm CAT on Saturday.
The former Miss SA said she is privileged to host the biggest film awards on the continent. She also shared on Instagram that she is happy to be reunited with Ik Osakioduwa.
“It’s an incredible honour to be hosting Africa’s biggest night in the entertainment and film with such a talented co-host. This is my first trip to Nigeria, and it could not have gone any better, she added.
Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice Nigeria, Busola Tejumola, said they are excited to have Zozibini joining Ik Osakioduwa to host the awards.
“They are both professionals in their craft, and we trust they will bring in the super energy and professionalism and keep the continent entertained as we celebrate our African stars,” she said.
