Die-hard fans of the Sex and the City reboot have been waiting on pins and needles to see just how HBO will carry on the beloved tale of three popular New York friends all these years later and come Monday, 13 December, South African fans of the franchise will also get to enjoy the show along with the rest of the world.
In an announcement shared on Wednesday, M-Net confirmed that the highly anticipated spin-off series, titled And Just Like That… will premiere on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) this December.
And Just Like That… is an HBO Max Original and if the official Sex and the City reboot and the new chapter of the groundbreaking and now-iconic HBO series Sex and the City.
The series from executive producer Michael Patrick King follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.
On Monday, 13 December at 8:30 pm And Just Like That… will air on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) with a double-bill premiere.
DStv subscribers with a connected DStv Explora and the DStv App will get the exclusive opportunity to watch the Sex and the City reboot on DStv catch up, express from the U.S every Friday from 10 December onwards.
The series includes previously announced cast members Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Chris Noth, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson, and Evan Handler.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, John Melfi and Michael Patrick King are all listed as executive producers on the prohect.
Writers include King, Samantha Irby, Rachna Fruchbom, Keli Goff, Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky.
The HBO series Sex and the City is an American romantic comedy-drama television series created by Darrn Star based on the 1997 book Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell.
The series premiered in the United States on June 6, 1998, and concluded on February 22, 2004, with 94 episodes broadcast over six seasons.
Cast member Kim Catrall (who played the beloved Samantha) did not sign on for the reboot citing various reasons, chief among which was a feud with Parker.
