Last February, Thando Thabethe got tongues wagging when she pulled off the incredible feat of buying her mother a beautiful home.
She shared the news with her 3.9 million Instagram followers in a video giving a brief tour of the double-storey house.
“The best thing I ever did!!!! I bought my mama a whole entire house!!!” she captioned the video which was set to Tupac’s Dear Mama.
Unstoppable Thabooty
This coming weekend, viewers will not only get a look inside the beautifully decorated home, they will also get a glimpse inside the life of the star when her show, Unstoppable Thabooty, kicks off on BET Africa (DStv channel 129).
According to BET Africa, this new and exclusive offering will detail how the multitalented businesswoman and radio host takes on the world with her family and close friends.

“I didn’t see myself in this but what can I say, I’m here…”
Her childhood friend – Mantsoe “Pout” Tsatsi, her industry and radio producer friend – Given Baloyi, and media personality and Thabooty’s brand ambassador – Khanya Mkangisa will also appear on Unstoppable Thabooty.
It’s not a reality show, it’s a memoir
Also speaking at the media screening of her show, Thando Thabethe said that she sees her show as more of a memoir than a reality show.
“Everyone is honest, everyone is real, we’re not creating drama, so it’s not that kind of show. If there’s drama, then there’s drama but we’re not going to plant things that don’t exist.”
She also quipped that the joy of being an executive producer on your own reality show is that if you don’t like something that has been included in the show, you can say no.
“We all respect one another, and no one is out here to try and make anyone feel bad, but we’re also honest and we know what each other’s boundaries are. I mean, Given knows not to say boys’ names!”
A woman named love
On the topic of the woman of the moment, the cast shared what they love most about Thando, whose name is the nguni word for love.
“What I love about Thando is that she is a very free-spirited person, loving, as her name and very caring for each and every one. Whether she knows you or she does not know you, she will treat you the same as she wants to be treated,” explained her mother.
Her sister echoed that sentiment, adding that she loves how much of a go-getter her sister is.
“What I love most about my girl over here is that she is the full package. Thando is intelligent, she is beautiful and successful… she’s kind, she’s adventurous, she’s funny… Most times people look at you and they expect you to be plastic just because you’re pretty and you’ve shown that it doesn’t always work that way,” said business partner, TV and film producer best friend, Tumi Maimela.
Given Baloyi concluded by remarking that she is unstoppable, just as the name of her show says and that she fights for both her own dreams and the dreams of the people around her.
Thabdo Thabethe’s show, Unstoppable Thabooty, will air exclusively on BET (channel 129 on DStv) every Saturday, from 15 April, at 7.30pm with repeats on Sundays at 6pm.
