Then and Now: Trevor Noah’s biggest thank you as he bows out of ‘The Daily Show’ 

South African comedian Trevor Noah bowed out for the final time of his hit late-night show The Daily Show on Comedy Central. 

An emotional Noah thanked many people who have helped his show and career skyrocket over the last seven years including it receiving recognition across award shows. 

Noah’s last show was on Thursday evening, and the comedian had a special message for one group of people.

Trevor Noah thanks black women 

Noah thanked fans who trusted him since day one, sharing that in the earlier days of his show they struggled to fill up the seats. 

However, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’s popularity grew over time but he had a special message for black women. 

“This is random for some, but a special shout out to black women. I’ve often been credited with having these grand ideas and being smart but who do you think teaches me? Who do you think shaped, nourished and formed me?

“From my mum, grandma and aunts, all these black women in my life. I always tell people, if you truly want to learn about America, talk to black women, because unlike everybody else, they can’t afford to f**k around and find out, black people understand how hard it is when things go bad, when things go bad they know it gets worse for them but black women, in particular, they know what sh*t is genuinely, they know what happens when things don’t go the way it should.”

Trevor’s last guests

The comedian’s last guests included retired tennis legend Roger Federer, the two consider themselves friends, as Noah was a big fan of the Swiss star during his playing days.

Noah also interviewed Neal Brennan and Emmy award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph.

From next year, The Daily Show will be hosted by funny faces from Saturday Night Live such as Leslie Jones, former late-night hosts Chelsea Handler and Wanda Sykes, other standup comics and actors D.L. Hughley, John Leguizamo, Kal Penn, and Marlon Wayans and fan favourite former Daily Show regular Hasan Minhaj.
