Sharon Stone loved Lovelace makeover

Sharon Stone enjoyed being unrecognisable in ‘Lovelace’. The 55-year-old actress is used to playing sexpot characters, but she was happy to swap kitten heels for flat shoes for her latest role as the dowdy, God-fearing mother of porn star Linda Lovelace in the Amanda Seyfried-starring biopic.

She said: “It’s fun to play a character people don’t even recognise me in. it was fun walking down the street and have my manager drive right be me and be like, ‘Where is she?’ ”

The ‘Basic Instinct’ star insists she isn’t as glamorous as the sexy characters she has often played on screen and is embracing the opportunity to play older parts.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Now I’m playing a lot of character parts it’s kind of a relief because how long can you wear high heels? Don’t tell anybody but I’m excited I can now play things that are a bit closer to my comfort zone. I feel that I’m going to play mothers and ultimately grandmothers.”

Stone’s co-star, Seyfried, recently revealed she was “nervous” about portraying the violent relationship between Linda Lovelace and her husband Chuck Traynor, played by Peter Sarsgaard. She told BANG Showbiz: “I was pretty nervous, the violence was kind of the issue for me. That was hard because it’s hard to be handled in that way.”
