The Funny Chef’s Plate It Up show has received a green light for another season on SABC 1. The brand-new season will debut tomorrow at 6pm.

Plate It Up is a reality cooking show where a seasoned qualified chef, Lebogang Tlokana, popularly known as The Funny Chef, teaches people how to cook different cuisines. Thirteen disaster cooks meet the funny chef in hopes to change their cooking skills.

What to expect

This season The Funny Chef will continue to help people to improve their cooking skills, like Tumisho Matlala, who comes from a family of seafood lovers and wants to learn how to make an appetizing seafood paella.

Khabonina Qubeka will also make an appearance on the show and open up about coming from a family with cooking disasters.

She will be the first to break the cycle as she learns how to build flavour and create a mouth-watering aroma in the kitchen.

Popular comedian, Summary, will be on episode 3 of the show as he learns how to make quick and easy homemade meals he can enjoy when he is not booked and busy. The Funny Chef will wrap up the season with the seasoned actress and presenter Vele Manenje.

In 2018, her stand-up comedy career took off. She later bagged herself a role on the popular 1Magic telenovela, The River.

Last year, she announced the release of her new book titled: The Funny Chef’s Delicious Dishes. Tlokana said she never thought she would one day release her own book.

“Been trying to find the right caption for weeks, but y’all know I dislike captioning things more so if the picture speaks for itself… ‘la bona le lona’ was all I could think of because I have the soul of a clown… but I decided to take myself seriously and type a longer caption so people could think I’ve got my vocabulary together. So uhm… as you can see Bathong,” she wrote on one of her Instagram posts.
