Fans of The Real Housewives franchise don’t have long to wait for their next fix of juicy gossip and drama galore as kykNET on Friday announced that Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande will air on the Afrikaans channel in April.
South African audiences couldn’t get enough of Mel Viljoen’s catty antics and Kiki La Coco’s no-nonsense attitude and expensive taste in real estate in the first ever Afrikaans show in the popular real-life franchise, Die Real Housewives van Pretoria.
While the names of the six glamorous women who will appear on the show have not been announced yet, we know that among them there are former beauty queens, a fitness model, a doctor, a former singer who went corporate and the wife of the head of one of the oldest South African companies.
With a colourful mix of women like the above, audiences can expect drama, strong opinions, emotion and lots of tongue in cheek humour as the six women are bound to get fans’ tongues wagging.

Filmed in and around Franschhoek, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Somerset West, Barrie Kelly from NBC Universal, the American entertainment company which owns the Housewives-franchise, said Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande is one of the most gorgeous locations of the housewives’ franchises they have.
Director Pascual Wakefield added that the scenery of nature and the beautiful towns are truly one of the main characters of the series.
Leading luxurious lives with a lot of heart, Wakefield says not only will viewers relate to every one of the six women, the drama will keep them on the edge of their seats one minute and reaching for the tissues the next when things get more emotional.
Lindi Lucouw from Red Pepper, the production company that is responsible for the series added that the women have strong opinions and will definitely get the country talking.
The identities of the six women will be revealed on Friday, 31 March.
Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande starts Thursday, 20 April 2023, at 8pm on kykNET, DStv channel 144.
