OMG! Was that Izak Davel on ‘Binnelanders’?

If you are a Binnelanders fan, you would have seen the jaw-dropping moment tonight as Annelize realised who her mysterious blind date was.

Yes, Izak Davel’s character, Dr Stefan de Vries, is back and as one could only expect from Davel, not without intrigue.

The soapie’s viewers have met De Vries before when he turned out to be the fourth man left at the altar by René (Simoné Nortman). He started as locum at Binneland Clinic, but after a brutal bike accident and post-concussion syndrome which only got diagnosed later, he got addicted to painkillers which put his job at Binneland in jeopardy.

This led to him blackmailing At Koster’s wife, Annelize Roux, in order to keep his job, which eventually led to various repercussions, now probably more than ever.

Dr De Vries is currently working at Southern Hope, which is where Elize (Lindie Stander) – Binnelanders’ self-proclaimed matchmaker and self-appointed BFF to Annelize – is a medical rep.

Without any knowledge of De Vries’ history with Annelize, Elize believes that these two would be a match made in heaven. As she is on a mission to find Annelize (and everyone else) a partner, Elize set up a blind date with the mysterious Dr Hunk-a-licious, with only the best intentions.

Needless to say, viewers were in for a treat with a total catastrophe bound to unfold as the two met up for a blind date arranged by Elize.

De Vries returning to the scene brings a whole new dimension to Binnelanders’ storyline.

In addition to Davel’s return to Binnelanders, viewers can also look forward to other new faces at the clinic as there is never a dull moment at Binneland.
