The Mommy Club: Van Die Hoofstad star Johandri Johnson recently opened up about her experience on the Showmax reality series.
The reality show follows five Afrikaans mothers who are redefining the art of balancing parenting, power and prestige.
Starring alongside Johandri on the show are Ansu Viljoen, Crystal van der Burgh, Louise Volschenk and Tessa Tullues.
Johandri said joining the show offered not only a spotlight, but also a space for growth and introspection.
“Watching myself on TV being vulnerable and soft-hearted was very emotional and eye-opening. It forced me to face the emotions I might’ve brushed off in the moment, but seeing them play out made me realise the strength it took to stay true to myself,” she added.
The 33-year-old full-time mother and multi-title Bikini Fitness champion said one of the biggest takeaways has been learning to balance kindness with boundaries.
“I’ve learnt that not everyone deserves access to your energy or your close circle of people. You can stand up for yourself, set boundaries and still remain kind. Strength doesn’t always have to be loud; it can be calm, grounded and unapologetically real.”

Johandri Johnson ready for the reunion
While the reunion date has not yet been announced, Johandri said she is looking forward to it.
She said she wants to bring clarity where it’s needed.
“I want to make it very clear, I was never a pushover or an instigator for wanting to make peace between everyone in the beginning.
“I choose my battles wisely and I stand up for myself when I believe the situation deserves my energy,” she said.
