TV star Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub, was a recent guest on Showmax’s doccie series, Unfollowed.
He spoke about life in prison after the incident in which he and a friend killed four schoolchildren and also opened up about his ongoing rape trial.
He said he did not regret going to prison but admitted it wasn’t easy.
“It was devastating. It was bad, and prison does not care whether you are Jub Jub or not,” he said.

Jub Jub refused to share whether he had met with the victims’ families, saying: “Out of respect for the families that lost their kids … What happens with myself and the families is not for anybody.”
He added: “Everything was taken away in the blink of an eye from having the accident.”
When Thembekile Mrototo asked: “Taken away by yourself?” He responded: “Not really, I guess the choices.”
He said the accident still haunts him. “A good part of me died as well … When you find yourself alone, you just remember … you try to sleep, you see visions. You try to move on with your life then you are reminded.”
He claimed his time in prison made him a better person.
“Prison is the only place that actually forced me to be alone, to reconnect with God, amadlozi (ancestors), no matter what.
“Because of the life that I was living, I had no time for what my ancestors wanted me to do. I had no time with God and I regret all my actions and the accident. I don’t regret going to prison because there’s a life lesson that I learned.”
The Uyajola9/9 presenter is out on bail, facing three counts of rape, two counts of attempted murder and one count of assault, brought by four different accusers.
